Reaching Residents Throughout South LA
Residents from throughout South LA joined us for our Senior and Family Health Fair on Saturday, Sept. 28. Nearly 700 adults, children and seniors received free health screenings and health education ranging from stroke prevention and brain health to hands-only CPR and “stop the bleed” instruction.
St. Francis Medical Center Chief Nursing Officer Derek Drake thanked the enthusiastic crowd and gave special recognition to our volunteers, vendors, entertainers, and sponsors. He said, “This was a great event! We had a tremendous turnout from residents, hospital teams, and collaborative sponsor organizations.”
Our health fair sponsors included Affinity Health, AltaMed, Ambulnz, Angeles IPA, AppleCare Medical Group, Briarcrest Nursing Center, City of Lynwood, Eisner Health, Healthsmart, Jacaranda Insurance Agency, Inc., JAR Insurance, L.A. Care Health Plan, Lynwood Healthcare Center, OneLegacy, Regal Medical Group, Inc., and Stella Health Insurance Agency.

We are grateful for the education and information you provided to individuals and families on the plans and programs that can connect them to health care, coverage, and preventive services.
St. Francis Medical Center Chief Financial Officer Terri Pasion summed up the day and said, “The fair demonstrated the partnership we have with the community and the health and wellness resources that we have available to them. All around it was a lot of fun and a super success!”
