Sidewalk CPR – Free “Hands-Only CPR” Classes Offered to the Community

May 15, 2019 | St. Francis News

In support of National CPR Week June 1-7, St. Francis Medical Center is offering free “Hands-Only CPR” classes on Thursday, June 6, in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency.

CPR instructors will demonstrate the proper techniques of Hands-Only CPR, and participants will have the opportunity to practice on CPR simulator mannequins.  The class is not a CPR certification course, but information on how to get certified will be available.

According to the American Heart Association, seventy percent of cardiac arrests occur at home.  Immediate CPR can triple a victim’s chance of survival.  Administering CPR until first responders arrive could save the life of someone you love.
